Dear colleagues,
With the successful launch of the Momentous strategic plan — both on campus and in highly engaged alumni communities across the country — we now turn our focus to the critical work of implementation. Much of this work has already begun, and we appreciate your dedicated efforts and leadership. Look for updates and progress toward these goals that will be shared soon.

Reaching our goals will require thoughtful, close coordination across units and sustained momentum across the university. To support this effort, I’m pleased to introduce Brittni MacLeod, who has joined the Office of the Provost as program manager. Brittni brings over a decade of experience in higher education, with a strong background in student success, strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration across university campuses. In her new role, she will coordinate initiatives across academic, research and innovation and student support areas, advancing progress toward the university’s long-term goals. Part of her role is also to make progress visible to our Rice community.
Brittni will work closely with many of you and your teams to build the structures and processes that will help translate our strategic vision into measurable action. Her focus will be on implementation — supporting initiative owners, coordinating efforts, and providing the project management and strategic counsel needed to move our collective priorities forward. She will reach out soon to schedule introductory meetings.
Brittni has a doctorate in higher education research, a master’s degree in higher education administration and more than a decade of related professional experience. She previously managed faculty-mentored undergraduate research programs at the University of Houston and partnered with campus leadership to align high-impact practices to the institution’s strategic planning and assessment efforts. At Sam Houston State University, she redesigned a peer-led, faculty-partnered tutoring program, established outcomes and assessment standards for leadership development programs, and contributed to the assessment team's administrative program review process aimed at aligning non-academic units to the strategic plan. At EAB and Qualtrics, she partnered with institutional leaders to optimize student and employee experiences through thoughtful program design, scaling and assessment. She enjoys bringing people together from across a campus to achieve common goals, which has resulted in a reputation for translating vision into action.
Please join me in welcoming Brittni to Rice. I’m confident that her leadership and expertise will be instrumental in helping us realize the ambitions of the Momentous plan.
Warm regards,
Provost Amy Dittmar
